One word - Excruciating! 10 minutes for acknowledgement, 4 drinks took another 10 minutes and 3 trips to get it right. 2 water and 2 sodas, really, 3 trips? 40 minutes for food, overdone and cold fries, no toast, crap on side of dishes. The carpet in this place NEEDS removed and our waitress should seek another line of work. I don't say that lightly, most waitresses are awesome. The voices in her head were seriously talking over everyone else. It took quite a few minutes to order and it was really awkward. "I'd like water, a steak omelet and hash browns." She writes, writes some more and then says "would you like hash browns?" Yes. "Ok, what else did you want, you said something else..." Water. "Oh, right." Writes some more. All four of us - same thing. I'd like to blame just our waitress, but it was all of them! Every single one of them - and there were quite a few for the 5 tables that were there - walked by us and not one offered to get drinks to help our waitress. We didn't even know who our waitress would be at that point. It was a shame, who doesn't love a good diner? Better customer service training would go a long way to help Freedom Square Diner, the manager or head waitress as well could use some tips. She apparently sat at a table behind us and did nothing to help. P.S. Get a new french fry supplier - those are just awful. Those fries in the picture are no where near what was served.

I'm sure it's good for breakfast, however, I haven't been there for Breakfast. I have been there for lunch and for dinner. They have the typical food, nothing that stands out as "special". The french fries are meh, regular french fries. The sandwiches are just regular, nothing special. The dinners, don't expect to be wowed, and they are not cheap (I was considering a fish dinner, but it was $13.99 for haddock, not including a salad) I ordered a turkey burger, side salad and a baked potato (it was after 4 PM) I had to pay $2.99 a for a side salad. I got that salad and it was one of those little salad plates with some iceburg lettuce, two slices of cucumber and 3 pieces of tomato. No crutons, no cheese, no onions, green pepper or olives or anything. The baked potato was about as good as I can make in my microwave at home. Soft skin and "al dente" on the inside. I don't even remember if I got any vegetables. The breakfast entrees look nice, I think I might go there for breakfast sometime, but never again for dinner.

Typical diner fare. Typical diner smell. Food was ok. Had a BLT and cottage cheese. The cottage cheese was actually better than the sandwich. Service was good and food is reasonably priced. Would eat here again if I was in a pinch or needed hangover food.

meets your expectations for typical diner atmosphere, albeit a la cranberry township. decent and cheaply priced food, but nothing extraordinary. i'd rate this 3.5 out of 5 stars. +1 for good breakfast food and generous portions. +1 for relatively quick service. +0 for awkward wait staff. +0 for strange colored decor. recommended for breakfast, but don't set your expectations too high. i was told by locals to steer clear of this place for lunch and dinner.

One of our favorite haunts. Good food and open for all meals. Great breakfast!

This is for the Center Twp. Beaver County location. My mom always told me if you have nothing nice to say don't say it. Well all I am telling you is under trained staff. The owners wife rang up wrong check and applied ut to my credit card. Did not know how to void it. The son was not any help what so ever. Left very unhappy. I won't be back. Bad part is they have two other locations. Not a newbies to the business. Won't be around long if that trend continues.

Been to this place twice. A diner in the classic sense. One some mornings, specially weekends, it is filled, and noisy. Like a popular diner should be. Family style eating and portions. Service not unlike diners in New Jersey. Food okay and ample. Lots of people like these style breakfast venues -- not so much for me but still this is a solid BF venue. f8 and be there

It's a traditional diner....I reccomend the Strawberry Crunch French Toast, it is probably one of my overall favorite diner breakfasts. It's better than a Denny's and the service is above average with a nice polite staff.

I used to love the Crabby BLT here but it seems they changed the recipe. Now the crab cakes are bland and kind of mushy. Unfortunately the prices do not reflect the quality of food here!

I can't figure out why many diners are so mediocre. You think the formula would be easy, fresh food cooked simply that tastes great. Freedom Square Diner is no different, it could be great I suppose but they allow sloppy work to pass for standard fare. Case in point, have you ever received "fries" that are so greasy that they're limp? Why would a cook/manager allow that? It reflects badly on the Diner - no one wins, neither the diner nor customer. The reason I was given for why they were limp and greasy? "Those are fresh hand cut fries. " Uhhh, OK, I guess I won't have any more fresh hand cut fries, I'll need to stick to frozen mass produced ones....

The owners are super friendly and always have the best breakfast foods. The pancakes are huge and delicious! Try the banana pancakes!:)

Great service! A bit of a wait on Sunday mornings but there is a good reason for that-the food is awesome! Great comfort food on a Sunday morning. Coffee is great, staff is friendly. Go get yourself an omelette!

Food was great. Service was horrible. After the owner accosted my husband for dropping a straw wrapper on the floor (which had fallen on the floor accidentally), him adding that "another customer saw it happen too," and then our server adding insulting, snarky comments, we were left thinking, "Were we just on a hidden camera show?" I could not make this stuff up! We stayed for food. Will not return.

OMG All i have to say is strawberry crunch french toast! Never had a bad meal here--friendly service--although sometimes during the rush it is a wait to get your food--

It is a diner. You get diner food. Better than Denny's. They always get my eggs right, unlike Denny's that seems to think one must cook a scrambled egg until it is leather-dry. The wait staff here is awesome, very down home. The salad is iceberg and romaine, which is a drag...but as I said, it is a diner. The ranch dressing is homemade and awesome.

I haven't been here in a while. Food was still excellent, wait staff is very friendly. Always a good, consistent choice for a very good breakfast.

My family took me here for a nice Father's Day breakfast and of course I was not disappointed. They serve big portions for the price. Good efficient service. Thanks for another good meal.

I was disappointed based on the other reviews. The attempt to emulate a diner atmosphere is a soulless Cranberry strip mall was the first major failure. Service was slow. 15 minutes for the server to come over and get our coffee order ( didn't ask or bring water. That was another 10 minutes to flag her done again). The food was average. Not bad. But not memorable. The Nutella French toast was dry and boring. The toast seemed to be sliced white bread. The egg breakfast was decent. The homefries were mushy and overly salted/spiced. For a breakfast for two people , the $26 tab was not worth it.

I stopped by here earlier today with two coworkers for lunch. We arrived at the diner right around 11:30 and there was three other groups of people in front of us. Thankfully they had tables for all of us and so we were seated after only a short wait by the door. The inside of the Freedom Square Diner is actually much nicer than the diner in the name might suggest. This certainly wasn't your old 50's type diner as everything was bright and clean with newer tables and booths. After looking at both the regular menu and at the lunch specials, I ended up going with the turkey and avocado sandwich with fries off of the lunch specials. This specific sandwich came on toasted rye bread with turkey, avocado, lettuce, pickle, tomato (I chose to have mine without), onion and a side of chipotle mayo. Whenever our meals came out the first thing that I noticed was the fries. They looked like they were homemade but also had a glistening appearance to them. After touching them I confirmed that they were indeed warm but soggy and so I can only imagine that they didn't let them drip off enough after taking them out of the fryer. The taste of the fries ended up being pretty good although they lacked seasoning in my opinion. As someone who rarely uses a salt shaker, I was surprised that I reached for it a couple of times in order to make them more palatable. The sandwich itself was good and I was impressed with the amount of turkey that they had put on it as well as the perfect ripeness of the avocado. What really made the sandwich though was the chipotle mayo. It was creamy and had the perfect amount of spice to it which I think went perfectly with the turkey. Without that important component I doubt I would have enjoyed it nearly as much. The bottom line for me is that I might head back here again in the future. While I really enjoyed the chipotle mayo and thought that the rest of the food was decent, I also thought that the price was bit much for what you received with it being a diner and all.

After another snowy night in Pittsburgh, I was leaving work hungry for a satisfying breakfast. My original road trip plan was postponed due to the winter weather so I headed to a place I've been meaning to try for awhile now, Freedom Square Diner. I perused the menu online ahead of time trying to decide what I might want to get. I usually go savory with my breakfast, and although that Strawberry Crunch French Toast looked amazing, I decided on the Country Fried Steak. Upon entering, I was greeted and seated immediately. I had to wait a few minutes for a drink, but the place was starting to get crowded, so I didn't mind. When my waitress approached, I ordered my food since I already knew what I wanted (and also because a rather large party was being seated right next to me). My food came out of the kitchen rather quickly and I began to enjoy. The breading on the steak was nice and crunchy despite being covered in gravy. The home fries and eggs were your average eggs and potatoes. The biscuits, which I only started eating halfway through my steak, were still warm when I pulled them apart. Overall, I was more than satisfied with my $10 breakfast. The interior set up is a bit odd and the place can get pretty loud when they're busy. I think the addition of a counter would help create a more diner-like experience. I debated 3 or 4 stars but ended up giving Freedom Square Diner 3 solid stars with the intention of returning and hopefully adding another star.

Stopped for a meal while in the area based on the good reviews as we are always looking for a new place to add to our "go to" list. We were surprised to see the place almost empty upon arrival as the many positive reviews suggested it should be a popular place and the cranberry area is generally busy. My wife ordered the fish sandwich and I tried to order breakfast as the menu stated "breakfast served all day". We were informed that although breakfast was served all day, there would be an extra charge of $2 for certain items - home fries, sausage gravy for example - no eggs benedict at all and limited omelettes. So "breakfast all day" should actually say "a few breakfast items all day". Our food arrived and the fish sandwich was good in terms of size but lacked in flavor and bun was stale. My eggs and toast were served lukewarm with small eggs and toast that was limp and soggy. For the prices charged, the food was sorely lacking and far below average. Needless to say, we won't be hurrying back anytime soon.

Food was good. We went on a holiday so it was crazy busy but they did a good job with the service. The pancakes are massive. I only ate 1/2 of one when I received two. The hungryman was very filling and the bacon was real and not that super thin crunchy junk. Good place to have breakfast.

We stopped here on a road trip because cracker barrel was too far away. It was definitely better than the cracker barrel and I would come back. The short stack of pancakes was two giant pancakes that I couldn't finish. Coffee was good and my husband got an omlette which was ok. Great stop not too far off the highway.

Cute little diner, right off Haine School road, around the corner from my boyfriend's house. The place is only open for breakfast and lunch. It's always busy, but there never seems to be a wait for a table. Service is quick and attentive. I love their cottage fries, my boyfriend always gets an omelet. They are HUGE!

I've driven by this oddly placed restaurant since I moved to Cranberry Twp in October and always wondered if it would be a good diner. One Sunday we were really in the mood for a good breakfast, but not in the mood for a chain breakfast so decided to try it out. One ordered the Banana Walnut French Toast, another ordered an omelet and I ordered the Banana Walnut pancakes. From where I was sitting I could see directly into the kitchen and everything was coming from scratch. The food came quickly and we were all impressed with how good it all smelled. One bite into my huge pancakes and I was in love! They were stuffed with walnuts and fresh bananas. The french toast was actually Walnut Banana bread as french toast - OMG DELISH! The omelet was also huge and full of fresh veggies. We didn't talk the entire meal because it was so good! My only complaint is paying at the end. It got a bit confusing because we wanted to split the check and you had to pay at the counter -it took a while for them to do the calculations, but we got it taken care of.

Four of us (hungry Canadians) were in Cranberry Township on our way back home from whitewater rafting in Summersville, West Virginia. Not wanting typical boring chain restaurant grub, we searched google and found Freedom Square down the street from our hotel. Easy to get to, we were immediately impressed by the large open concept and welcoming staff. Breakfast is reasonably priced and delicious. Portions are big and you'll never see the bottom of your coffee mug. Service like this is hard to beat! Thanks for a great meal Freedom Square. Will definitely come back on our next trip through.

Wife and I had breakfast there this morning, based on reviews saying they had good breakfasts there. We were also happy to see various certificates saying they were voted Best Breakfast in Cranberry TWP for several years. Uh, really? I got a big Sausage Gravy, Biscuit and Egg breakfast, while the wife had bacon and eggs with home fries. I can guarantee you that my biscuits were store-bought, refrigerated biscuits. In fact, they didn't even remember to nuke them before serving them. They were ice cold and I had to send them back. The sausage patties were pre-formed and maybe 1/8" in thickness, and the hash browns were the frozen patty kind (I was actually told they were patties when I ordered them). The sausage gravy was either a mix or from a can, and it was horrible. And the wife said her home fries tasted like they were made either yesterday or real early this morning. She also witnessed omelets being made with eggs from a milk carton. AND IF SHE SEES SHE SAW THEM POUR LIQUID EGGS FROM A CARTON, I'LL BELIEVE HER OVER WHAT ANYBODY ELSE SAYS. COME ON, GUYS!!! HOW FRIGGIN' HARD IS IT TO MAKE SAUSAGE GRAVY FROM SCRATCH? HOW FRIGGIN' HARD IS IT TO SLICE FRESH SAUSAGE FROM A ROLL AND MAKE IT 1/2 THICK OR MORE? HOW FRIGGIN' HARD IS TO CRACK FRESH EGGS AND WHIP THEM WITH A WHISK FOR A FRESH OMELET? HOW FRIGGIN HARD IS IT TO STIR UP FRESH HOME FRIES ON ORDER? And I'm used to eating frozen biscuits (the frozen dough kind you bake yourself is almost as good as what Momma used to make), BUT AT LEAST REMEMBER TO NUKE THEM BEFORE YOU SEND THEM OUT!!! At least they cooked the eggs right. So, bottom line, if you want frozen, prefab food, this is your place. We won't be back, this place sucked for breakfast and that is supposed to be their strong point!!! We could have cooked a much, much better breakfast ourselves back at our room at the Residence Inn.

Not too bad, the food is your typical diner type food, but the interior of the place is not. First of all, its part of a strip mall, so it doesnt have that stand alone diner feel to start. Then the inside is just a bunch of booths thrown together. High ceilings and weird layout, falter in giving the true diner experience. Food was nothing great, but its not a bad place to stop if the need is had.

Breakfasts are really very good here, but the hours are strange and the lunch and dinner menu leaves a lot to be desired and the prices for those meals are a bit high. Always has oldies playing, which fits the diner theme, but the decor has an almost industrial feel to it. It's an odd combination.

service terrible, prices high, cleanliness lacking, get the drift? Best breakfast in Cranberry? I think not, Perkins blows this place away at a fraction of a price. Save yourself the traffic nigntmare. You will thank me.
